My hair was in desperate need of some maintenance, so today I headed over to the newly-opened Gro salon in Vauxhall. Although the staff said that the site isn’t completely finished yet, the salon is gorgeous. Very cool, very funky, not at all pretentious like some salons can be.
The staff were very friendly – I had Tan doing my hair, who was lovely. He gave me advice on how to get my hair into better condition (it’s very dry) and said that the lighting made me look gorgeous (bit random, but I’ll take it!).
My hair looks so much better and feels great. I’m really happy with the service there. They offered me drinks, there were loads of magazines for me to keep myself occupied while Tan got to work, and I loved the fact that I was sat at a table during it. That’s right – instead of being sat in front of the mirror like one usually is, I was sat at a large table (kind of like a dining table) with magazines on, so I could chat to the other people who were also sat there having treatments.
The only critique I would have of this salon is that it’s a little hard to find – it’s on a building estate full of offices/coffee shops called ‘St George Wharf’ and it can be hard to navigate. The easiest thing to do when you come out of Vauxhall station is cross the road to the building estate, turn left, and it’s just before you reach the Tesco.
I’ll be going back, even if it’s just to shamelessly court compliments from the staff.

I followed my regular colourist Tan here, as always he does my hair beautifully, he has a great eye for colour and just gets it!
The salon is very friendly with a warm atmosphere and I quickly felt at home. I really enjoyed the whole experience from checking in at reception to leaving, oh and a little surprise at the end, an exclusive £10 voucher for my next visit with a stylist or to introduce a friend. I will definitely be back to see Tan here, some Mayfair salons can be a little pretentious and a bit pricey, not this one!

Best result I ever had! I have tried many salons for my highlights and I was never satisfied and wanting to return however after visiting this salon – finally – I am so happy with my highlights! They look very natural, no chunks of bleached stripes, and not too light but very close to my natural haircolour which is exactly what I asked for. I had my hair done with Tan who has a wonderful colouring technique and he understood perfectly what I wanted to achieve – I was very impressed and I will definitely come back.
The salon is quite small and intimate and has a warm atmosphere thanks to all the lovely staff.

Having tried most of the ‘top’ salons around Mayfair and not being completely happy, I decided to try this salon after reading reviews online. It’s quite understated, which I like. Although the decor is slightly dated, it is still somehow very warm and welcoming.
Staff were friendly and made me feel comfortable. My colourist, Tan, was great and really looked after me. We changed my shade slightly but I am amazed how such a little change can make a difference and be so flattering to my skin tone. I didn’t realise I was previously the ‘wrong’ shade of blonde!
I really enjoyed my overall experience here and will be back for my next appointment in the new year.

I had my hair coloured by Tan. He changed my colour from peroxide blonde back to a glossy brunette. All my girlfriends love it and say my hair is the best colour they’ve ever seen it. I must admit, I was really unsure at first. However, I am so happy with the results. I highly recommend Tan, he is a sweetheart and a joy to be in the company of. Can’t wait for my next colour refresh!

I visited Patrick Ludde for the first time last week. I got a discount on my colour and, much to my surprise, was with their creative colour director. His consultation really made sense – he clearly went through all my options, taking into consideration my eye colour, skin tone and personality. I felt completely at ease and looked after from the minute I walked in. I left with an amazing new colour which took 10 years off me! I had a great blow dry and a hair mask too. I highly recommend this salon. Everyone was friendly and professional.
